The American Falls at Niagara: Beating The Rock to Pulp
The American Falls crash down onto the rocks about 100 feet below which over 150 years have built up from rockfalls.

In 1954 Prospect Point collapsed (north or left of picture). Ten percent of the water that flows over the falls, flows over the American Falls which are 830 feet (250 m) wide. That means that about 60,000 gallons a second tumbles over the rocks of the American Falls. (picture by Chuck Camroux of www.GatewayNiagara.com).
