The Rushing Water Tells Us That It Is Spring at Niagara Falls
A sure sign of spring at Niagara Falls. The vivid colour of the water as it crashes over the Canadian Falls as if to tell the tourists it’s time to come and visit.

2,600 feet across the brink, 176 feet high, and with 600,000 gallons of water per second thundering over the brink, the Canadian Horseshoe Falls is truly one of natures perfect wonders. Straddling the Canadian-United States International Border, Niagara Falls attracts over 15 Million tourists each year. The mighty river (actually a strait between two large bodies of water, but who’s arguing) plunges over a cliff of dolostone and shale. Niagara Falls is the second largest falls on the globe next to Victoria Falls in southern Africa.
One fifth of all the fresh water in the world lies in the four Upper Great Lakes-Michigan, Huron,
Superior and Erie. All the outflow empties into the Niagara river and eventually cascades over
the falls. (picture by Chuck Camroux of www.GatewayNiagara.com).
